Ayako Kato – Biography

ヴァイオリニスト。アジア圏におけるクラシック音楽的な身体・振る舞いをリサーチし、リサイタルやパフォーマンス作品の上演などを行う。ベルギー・ナミュールの音楽院「IMEP」修士演奏家課程を、学年最高得点にて修了。
これまでの主な作品に、リサイタル「形式を呼吸する」、パフォーマンス「ヴァイオリニストによる（メタ）フィクション」「アイム・ミート！」など。KAAT「カイハツ」、豊岡演劇祭フリンジ・ショーケース、金沢21世紀美術館 芸術交流共催事業「&21+」などに採択される（2025年度）。
She is a violinist. Researching classical musical body and behaviors in Asia, she presents recitals and performance pieces. She graduated from the Master’s in Performing Arts course at the IMEP in Namur, Belgium, with the highest score in her year.
Her major works to date include the recital “Breath the Form” and the performances “(Meta)Fiction by Violinists” and “I’M MEAT!”. Her work has been selected for KAAT “Kaihatsu,” Toyooka Theater Festival Fringe Showcase, and 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa’s co-sponsored art exchange program “&21+” (2025).
